When our dad passed away suddenly we didn't know where to go. We only knew that he wanted to be cremated. From my first phone call with April I knew we had chosen the right place. She was so patient and kind talking me through the whole process. It was extremely helpful the way she took over so that we could focus on our family. She was always so responsive and kept us updated. The best part is when she asked if she could pray over his body and that just made my heart swell with graciousness. You can never have too many prayers! When my sister went to pick his remains up I asked if she cried the entire time being there and she said April was so sweet keeping her mind in a good positive place that she was able to hold it together. During tough times like these you couldn't ask for a gentler soul to take good care of your loved ones!

My husband of almost fifty years recently passed away. My heart was broken, but I had to decide on arrangements for his cremation. I had known the Harold Dixon family for over forty years and knew that they would take good care of us. They certainly did that. Because of Covid concerns, we really did not want to travel from Wake Forest to Coats to make the various decisions, so April who now runs Coats Crematory helped us to make all our choices online. We had a family-only service at our former church in Coats, followed by a drive-thru visitation. April had to be out of town on the day of the service, but her parents took care of delivering the urn to us at the church. We had minimal paperwork still to sign, and all of that was done prior to the service. Plus, Dr. and Mrs. Dixon also came through the drive-thru visitation, which thrilled us. April works really hard to keep costs down for the families. Everyone from April and her assistant, to the folks who picked up my husband's body from our home in Wake Forest, and April's parents, Dr. Harold Dixon and his wife Dana, showed nothing but pure professionalism and compassion. Seeing the family and their concern for us made this so much less painful than I ever thought it could be. I might add that April called and texted us numerous times, not just for information, but to ask if there was anything that they could do to help us. She also contacted us on the day of the funeral and several times since then just to check on us. All of this has meant so much. Our family will be forever grateful for the love, compassion and professionalism shown to us by everyone at Coats Crematory and would recommend them highly.
