Cathy Baker Obituary

Cathy Lynn Baker (Cat), 61, entered eternal rest on August 26, 2023. She was preceded in death by her son; Travis Scarberry; her daughter; Shawna Scarberry; and her dad; Ashly Bishop. She will be forever missed by her loving husband, Stoney Baker Jr; daughter, Latisha Neal (Mike); grandchildren, Aaron Scarberry; Ayden Neal and Samantha Neal; mother, Linda Bishop; mother in law, Becky Baker; father in law, Stoney Baker Sr; sister Sue Bishop; brothers Russ Bishop (Melinda); Chris Bishop (Shannon); her best friends Jennifer Hernandez(Jennie) and Janet Keever; nieces; nephew; and many more family and friends who will miss her forever.

Cat (Mama) has always been the heart, soul and backbone of our family. The glue that has held us all together. She had the biggest heart and was always willing to help you out in any way she could. She was always there to listen, hold your hand, offer advice or put someone in their place if need be. She was hardworking, fun loving, loyal, and had an unwavering and unconditional love for all. She could light up any room with her beautiful smile, infectious laugh, her West Virginia accent, adventurous spirit and bright bold eyes. She was a spitfire; a fighter and her spunk were either loved or feared sometimes both. She was a god-fearing woman and even through all the trials and tribulations life handed her she held onto her faith. Cat, Mama, Nana, we will carry you with us always until we see you again. Rest easy and know we will always be held together by your unconditional love and faith. Goodnight, I love you!

An angel lived among us,
A gift from God above.
She showered us with kindness
And shared with us her love.
She cherished every moment
With the man who was her life;
Walking hand in hand together,
Facing life with all its strife.
She loved her children dearly,
Each one a different way,
Nestled close within her heart.
Though, now, she's far away.
She's gone to live with Jesus.
But, she's here with us today,
Smiling down on every one of us,
And telling us she's O.K.
