Stephen "Brent" Burns

March 26, 1959 – June 26, 2024

Brent passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday morning, June 26, 2024 from Stage IV mestatic colorectal cancer.

Brent was a proud Veteran who served in the Army for six years as a Cannon Crewmember. After leaving the Army in 1986, he worked primarily as a Pressman in the printing industry until he became disabled in 2023.

Brent is survived by his wife, Lisa (Griffin) Burns; his son Eryk Burns and his step-son Joshua Martin. He is also survived by his brothers Timothy (Barbara) Pilley, Jeffrey (Sherri) Pilley and many nieces and nephews.

Brent was one of the kindest people you could ever meet. He never had an unkind word to say about anyone. He was a man who truly loved his family, country music, cats, nature and UNC sports teams. He was so very proud of his son Eryk whom he loved very much and his step-son, Joshua. His wife, Lisa, was the love of his life; she stood by him, took care of him and was with him to the very end. He never gave up and fought the battle with all his might.

The family appreciates your continued love, support and prayers. A Celebration of Brent's Life will be held at a later date.
