Patricia Matthews Demmel, 78, of Dunn passed away Wednesday morning, April 22, 2020, at her home.

Pat was born April 30, 1941, in Harnett County.  She was the daughter of the late Barbee Watson Matthews and Exie Partin Matthews.  She was also preceded in death by brothers, Charles Matthews, Billy Matthews, and Ricky Matthews.

Pat is survived by her husband, Thomas Mathew Demmel, of 36 years.  She is also survived by daughter, Lolita Briggs Tripp and husband Gerald; son, Charles Thomas Briggs; stepson, Dwight Edward Briggs and wife Linda; stepson, Thomas Mathew Demmel, Jr.; stepson, William Adalbert Demmel and wife Jeanne; stepson, James Allen Demmel and wife Liz; sister, Dot Byrd; brothers, BJ Matthews and Phillip Matthews; grandson, Trey Tripp; granddaughter, Larah Tripp; step-grandsons, James Demmel and Stephen Demmel; and step-granddaughter, Emily Demmel.

Pat was a member of Central Baptist Church in Dunn.  She volunteered for numerous activities over many years to include hospice volunteer work, puppeteering for children who experienced the loss of a loved one, and animal-assisted therapy for patients at Wake Med.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
