Malcolm loved the outdoors, mainly fishing. On a hot summer day, you could find him by the river with his pole in the water.

Malcolm was preceded in death by his father, Malcolm Ivey Sr and his sister, Dianne Chapman. His surviving family includes his mother, Gladys Barefoot (Coats), his sister, Carolyn Wilson (Ivey), his children, Kimberly Kermick (Daniel), Michael Ivey (Jaymie), Derek Ivey (Kristin), Amanda Hamilton (Ricky), and Cynthia Ivey (Sierra), his grandchildren, Autumn Tyndall-Kyleigh Kermick, Raelynn Ivey, Ashton and Kinsey Ivey, Trey, Aubrey and Madeline Hamilton, and Brentley Wilson and Emery Ivey, along with his many nieces and nephews.
