James Stokley Norris, Sr. (74) of Coats, NC, passed away on October 16, 2019.  He was born on August 28, 1945, in Danville VA. to James Thomas Norris and Virginia Mae Scearce Norris.  He is survived by his wife, Peggy Pope Norris and sons: James S. Norris, Jr. and wife Chrissy of Benson; Wesley Norris and wife Tracy of Benson; grandchildren, Kaylee, JT, JW and FIN. He is also survived by brothers and sisters: Jack Norris and wife, Bonnie of Holly Springs, NC; Fran Montedonico and husband Bob of Trenton, NC and Ann Lipsomb and husband Dennis of Willow Spring, NC.  James also considered the employees of Carlie C's IGA in Coats, his family, where he worked for 23 years as a stock clerk.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tommy Norris. A Memorial Service will be held at Stone Creek Advent Church at 343 Woods Crossroads Rd, Benson on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at 2:00pm. Scott Johnson and Steve Campbell will officiate. The family will receive friends at their residence in Coats.
