Gary Kemp Godwin known to many as "Tootsie" died Monday, January 11, 2021 after a brief illness.

Gary was born on October 6, 1956 in Harnett County to the late William Sion Godwin and Velma Core Godwin.  Gary was a graduate of Midway High School. He was employed many years at Kelly Springfield.   Tootsie enjoyed working outdoors, traveling, hanging out with friends and listening to a wide genre of music.

The family will have a private service on Wednesday, January 20, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Greenwood Cemetery.  Attendees are asked to wear a face covering and practice social distancing.

Gary was survived by his Sisters, Glenda Smith; Shelby Porter; Margie Godwin; Lorraine Johnson; Teresa Baker; Brothers, George Godwin; Jimmy Godwin; Jerry Godwin; Donald Godwin along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Jernigan and brother, William Howard Godwin (Bill).
